Lutheran Family Services of Virginia, based in Hampton, is in need of volunteer mentors for kids in the foster care and juvenile justice system. They have a jail ministry that extends beyond the correctional centers. They provide support and necessities to those coming back into society and their families. Potters House

Potter's House, associated with Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, serves the area's homeless population. They offer financial, food, bike, personal hygiene, and ID assistance twice a week to those in need of these items. The Potter's House resources come from the congregation and other churches, business's and organizations in the area. With the rising cost of utilities and food, coupled with the growth of this program, the ministry is struggling to help those in need.
